Mahatma Gandhi's quotes

A 'No' uttered from the deepest conviction is better than a 'Yes' merely uttered to please, or worse, to avoid trouble.

A coward is incapable of exhibiting love; it is the prerogative of the brave.

A man is but the product of his thoughts what he thinks, he becomes.

An ounce of practice is worth more than tons of preaching.

Fear has its use but cowardice has none.

Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.

There is more to life than increasing its speed.

To believe in something, and not to live it, is dishonest.

You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.

Steve Jobs quote on design lesson of ipod

Can't help sharing this thought from Steve Jobs (Morning I found it here)

Look at the design of a lot of consumer products—they’re really complicated surfaces. We tried make something much more holistic and simple. When you first start off trying to solve a problem, the first solutions you come up with are very complex, and most people stop there. But if you keep going, and live with the problem and peel more layers of the onion off, you can often times arrive at some very elegant and simple solutions. Most people just don’t put in the time or energy to get there. We believe that customers are smart, and want objects which are well thought through.

– Steve Jobs on the design lesson of the iPod in Newsweek, 2006-10-14

The ross within us

A mail forward I received some days back.

A certain man planted a rose and watered it faithfully and before it blossomed, he examined it.

He saw the bud that would soon blossom, but noticed thorns upon the stem and he thought, "How can any beautiful flower come from a plant burdened with so many sharp thorns? Saddened by this thought, he neglected to water the rose, and just before it was ready to bloom... it died.

So it is with many people. Within every soul there is a rose. The God-like qualities planted in us at birth, grow amid the thorns of our faults. Many of us look at ourselves and see only the thorns, the defects.

We despair, thinking that nothing good can possibly come from us. We neglect to water the good within us, and eventually it dies. We never realize our potential. Some people do not see the rose within themselves; someone else must show it to them. One of the greatest gifts a person can possess is to be able to reach past the thorns of another, and find the rose within them.

This is one of the characteristic of love... to look at a person, know their true faults and accepting that person into your life... all the while recognizing the nobility in their soul. Help others to realize they can overcome their faults. If we show them the "rose" within themselves, they will conquer their thorns. Only then will they blossom many times over.

Smart Thoughts of life

Don't compare yourself with any one in this world. If you compare, you are insulting yourself.

Don't complain about others; change yourself if you want peace.

It is easier to protect your feet with slippers than to cover the earth with carpet.

No one can go back and change a bad beginning, but anyone can start now and create a successful ending.

Easy is to judge the mistakes of others. Difficult is to recognize our own mistakes.

If a problem can be solved, no need to worry about it. If a problem cannot be solved what is the use of worrying?

'Changing the Face' can change nothing. But 'Facing the Change' can change everything.

Be bold when you loose and be calm when you win.

No one will manufacture a lock without a key. Trust that God created solutions for all problems we meet.

Every successful person has a painful story. Every painful story has a successful ending. Accept the pain and get ready for success.

Heated gold becomes ornament. Beaten copper becomes wires. Depleted stone becomes statue. So the more pain you get in life you become more valuable.

Mistakes are painful when they happen. But year's later collection of mistakes is called experience, which leads to success.

Life laughs at you when you are unhappy...
Life smiles at you when you are happy...
Life salutes you when you make others happy...
If you miss an opportunity don't fill your eyes with tears.
Tears may hide another better opportunity in front of you.

If you keep doing what you have always done, you will keep getting what you have always gotten.

For things to change, you have to change. For things to get better, you have to get better.

life is a game - some tips

Imagine life is a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them-? FAMILY / HEALTH? / FRIENDS AND / SPIRIT? .And you are keeping all of these in the air.
You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If yo? drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls -? Family,Health,Friends and Spirit are made of glass. If you drop one of these they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same.

?
You must understand that and strive for balance in your life. How ?

*
Don"t undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others. It is because we are different that each of us isspecial.

*
Don"t set your goals by what other people deem important. Only you know what is best for you.

*
Don"t take for
granted the things closest to your heart. Cling to them as you would your life, for without them life is meaningless.

*
Don"t let your life slip through your fingers by living in the passt or for the future. By living your life one day at a time you live all the days of your life.

*

Don"t give up when you still have something to give. Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying.

*
Don"t be afraid to admit that you are less than perfect. It is this fragile thread that binds us each together.

*
Don"t be afraid to encounter risks. It is by taking chances that we learn how to be brave.

*
Don"t shut love out of your life by saying it"s impossible to find. The quickest way receive love is to give; the fastest way to lose is to hold it too tightly; and the best way to keep love is to give it
wings.

*
Don"t run through life so fast that you forget not only where you have been but also where you are going.

*
Don"t forget that a person"s greatest emotional need i? to feel appreciated

*
Don"t be afraid to learn. Knowledge is weightless, a treasure you can always carry easily.

*
Don"t use time or words carelessly. Neither can be retrieved.

*
Life is not a race, but a journey to be savoured each step of the way.

*
Yesterday is history.

*
Tomorrow is a mystery.

*
Today is a gift ; That"s why we call it - THE PRESENT? !!

your outlook towards life - have a nice day

For everything you have missed, you have gained something else;
And for everything that you gain, you lose something else.

It is about your outlook towards life. You can either regret or rejoice.

Have a wonderful day!!

Easy Vs Difficult : Poem

** I am not the author, from an email forward.

Easy is to judge the mistakes of others
Difficult is to recognize our own mistakes

Easy is to talk without thinking
Difficult is to refrain the tongue

Easy is to hurt someone who loves us.
Difficult is to heal the wound...

Easy is to forgive others
Difficult is to ask for forgiveness

Easy is to set rules. Difficult is to follow them...

Easy is to dream every night.
Difficult is to fight for a dream...

Easy is to show victory.
Difficult is to assume defeat with dignity...

Easy is to admire a full moon.
Difficult to see the other side...

Easy is to stumble with a stone.
Difficult is to get up...

Easy is to enjoy life every day.
Difficult to give its real value...

Easy is to promise something to someone.
Difficult is to fulfill that promise...

Easy is to say we love.
Difficult is to show it every day...

Easy is to criticize others.
Difficult is to improve oneself...

Easy is to make mistakes.
Difficult is to learn from them...

Easy is to weep for a lost love.
Difficult is to take care of it so not to lose it.

Easy is to think about improving.
Difficult is to stop thinking it and put it into action...

Easy is to think bad of others
Difficult is to give them the benefit of the doubt...

Easy is to receive
Difficult is to give

Easy to read this
Difficult to follow

Easy is keep the friendship with words
Difficult is to keep it with meanings

The beauty of this day lies inside YOU

There is something more beautiful about today,
Other than the thundering, birds chirping, Chimes singing, leaves turning,
Clouds passing, wind dancing,
Children laughing, butterflies flying,
Flowers growing....
The most beautiful thing about this day....
Knows that it's a second chance, to do all the things you've meant to do....

The beauty of this day lies inside YOU !!!

Pleasure of life

Relax:

Watch the clouds roll by, soak in a bath, or retreat to a solitary place

BREATHE:

Take a deep breath through the nose and release the soft exhalation slowly through the mouth

MOVE:

Practice cooking, sports, driving or just put on music and allow your body to move with the flow

LAUGH:

Breathe gently and work your way up to a strong belly laugh. Sit down to a 10-minute laughter session

GET RID OF STRESS:

Use those stressful moments to consciously face novel situations and create openness in your mind, body and emotions

EXPLORE PLEASURES:

Ask for regular massages from your partner or give yourself massages. Zoom in on what feels good. Explore new ways of savoring sex, be it with a partner or solo. Focus on the connection between letting go and sensual pleasure. Explore neglected senses, such as smell and hearing. Pick up an instrument you haven't played in years

TAKE PLEASURE IN NATURE:

Go for a walk, look around. Watch out for unnoticed sights and sounds, the chirping of a bird, the shapes in the clouds, the humming of a bee

SHARE:

Give pleasure to others. Be generous with hugs and expressions of affection.
